No matter what, every once in awhile, you're going to find
yourself waiting. You might be on hold on the telephone, or
sitting at the dentist's office awaiting your turn, or at
the train station waiting for your train to arrive.Make that waiting time count by always carrying around a 'Waiting Bag' with you. Stock that bag with a few things you have or want to do. You may pack a book to read, or your latest knitting project. Perhaps you might bring your cell phone to make some necessary calls, your check book to write out payments for pending bills, stationery to catch up on correspondence, or an audio player to listen to the latest book.
The 'Waiting Bag' ensures you're always doing something productive with your time.
The waiting bag has been an idea I have shared at my speaking events across the midwest. In Des Moines, Iowa I don't go too many places without being stopped by a train. The waiting Bag is a real assett for those train wait as well as Dr offices, babysetting grandkids, and many other places.
PS. I am listed as a speaker on your professional organizers and I just did two workshops in April that got my name from this site. THANKS!!!!

Oh, I like that idea!
I always, always, carry a good book with me and a small bottle of water.
I'm a avid reader and i'm often thirsty.
Your own suggestions are great.

A waiting bag. What a good idea! We can get so many good things accomplished a little bit at a time. My book talks about that, too. Check it out at www.whynotrightnow.com.

Thank you for this wonderful entry! I was curious as to the nature of a 'waiting bag', and while I always keep a book in the car -- and usually grab it if I'm going into the post office or a dentist appointment -- as I've wanted to start knitting, I now have a solid reason to find my 'waiting bag'. Thanks for your creativity and resourcefulness, Maria =)
