You had tons of things to do today, and now you're
exhausted. But, you still have to make dinner, and your
pantry is bare. Sound like a familiar story? In the future, always keep your pantry stocked with basics, such as tomato sauce, pasta, tuna, beans, canned veggies and rice. This will greatly reduce those last-minute treks to the store.
Any recipes available for meals straight out of the pantry? No frozen or refrigerated items necessary? Except staples that most everyone would have in the fridge door ... Like mayo, etc

Crockpot Vegetarian Chili is EASY!
2 cans diced tomatoes with chili spices
1 can black beans
1 can corn
3 T chili powder
1 can diced chilis or diced jalapenos (the first makes milder, the second hotter chili)
That's it!

HEre is a simple recipe:
Skinless chicken pieces
Can of mushroom soup
Rice
Spray casserole dish with Pam. Place rice in bottom, layer chicken on top. Put can of mushroom soup in mixing bowl and add water, stir. Then put on top of rice and chicken. Bake covered. Rice will absorb water and chicken drippings. Rice and mushroom soup should be in your pantry. HTH.

Hi Happy - try this.
Can of tuna, can of corn kernels, jar of tuna bake mix. Combine together, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake. Of course if you have any of the following fresh, canned or frozen they can be added, capsicum, peas, beans, mushrooms, pineapple pieces, cheese, mini tomatoes.
Make it up as you go along.

Funny, I was going to suggest posting a few "pantry" recipes on the inside of your pantry door, to save even more time/effort/thought.
Quick pantry recipe:
8 oz dry pasta
1 can/jar spaghetti sauce
1 cup water (maybe a little more)
Bring to simmer, cover & cook on low about 15-20 mins. (We use a deep non-stick skillet w/lid.)
Can be dressed up with any type of meat, cheese, vegetables (beans?) you have on hand. (We usually cook double italian sausage, then freeze the extra for nights like this. We also keep frozen strips of peppers & onions on hand.)
