When is it prime time to come up with an organizing
solution? Often when you find you're painstakingly
spending time searching for something on a fairly
regularly basis.
This recently came to be with my 4-year old's hair accessories. How many hair accessories does a 4-year old need? In Amanda's case, lots!
So this past weekend, I stopped at Shopko and picked up a scrapbooking embellishment organizer to get those hair accessories under control and organized.
The results:
a) Amanda loves looking through the organizer each morning and picking the perfect accessories.
b) Mom and Dad are relieved that we don't have to waste time searching for the pink sparkly star barrette in a disorganized pile.
c) Everyone is happy . . . and that's what being organized is all about!

What a great idea! I thought I was organized using a small drawer system but that organizer goes the extra distance allowing you to sort by color and type. Does your daughter keep it nice and neat or are you in charge of that? I have a seven year old that does well with the drawers but I am curious whether or not she would put everything back in it's correct space. It amuses me to think that my older daughter would absolutely put everything back correctly yet she is the one who doesn't have as many possessions.

NOTE FROM MARIA GRACIA
Yes, my daughter puts everything back where it goes. She actually enjoys it at her age. I guess it reminds her of her preschool class, where she has to sort everything back before leaving for the day. :-)

These plastic divided bins are also great for storing jewelry and earrings for adults. I love them! They stack very efficiently on a shelf in my bathroom and come in all sizes.

This is an AWESOME idea! I was just in the kids bathroom this morning fretting over my daughters "hair things" and thinking the way we had them organized was not working! This week I'm getting that organizer! Thanks for the tip!

My daughter is terrible with keeping her jewelry together. Jewelry boxes don't help. She is 14 now and most of it ends up in the bathroom drawer which doesn't have room for it, in our small vanity, and also in our medicine cabinet or wherever she can find a space. It's been driving me nuts! We're soon moving and the vanity is larger in the new house. I plan to get organized with this move and new house. I found a lg 2-pc plastic desk organizer at Wal-Mart to place in the new bathroom that has several different sized pockets. I may need to add one more container for her 'chunky' necklaces. Hope this works!
