2 Nights Left and 200 Pages to Go

boleyn Each month, for the past 4 years, I've been involved in a monthly book chat with friends. In a nutshell, we all read the same title, and then we get together to discuss the book. It really makes a book worth reading when you know you can talk to others about it!

I'm currently reading 'The Other Boleyn Girl' by Philippa Gregory. It's a very long book--nearly 700 pages. Problem is, our book chat is this Sunday afternoon, and I'm only up to page 500!

I guess I engaged in a few too many holiday activities in December, and didn't meet my nightly reading goal of 20 minutes daily. Oh well. Sometimes you just have to be flexible.

So, I'll be bumping my reading up to an hour tonight, an hour tomorrow night--and I'll finish up whatever I don't complete in those two sessions on Sunday morning prior to the chat. At least, everything will be fresh in my mind for our discussion.

If you haven't yet read this book, I'm so enjoying it. I barely want it to end. But it has to, as our next book, 'Eat, Pray, Love' is next on the agenda.

Thank you for offering book titles that might be of interest. I love the idea of a book club but all of my friends have turned down the idea, stating that they don't have the time for it. Maybe this will turn into an online book club. :)

Happy New Year to you, Maria. The work you continue to do with your website continues to amaze me.

Warm regards,
Charlotte

Eat, Pray, Love is a wonderful, fabulous book. I enjoyed it so much I read it twice and gave it to friends and family for Christmas. Enjoy!

I recently read the same book for my book club. I would strongly recommend finishing it if possible. It was fantastic. I also read the next one, "The Boleyn Inheritance." Not as good, but definitely enjoyable!!

Good luck!

I absolutely loved "The Other Boleyn Girl" which I read last year, and just finished "Eat, Pray, Love" which I also adored. If you liked Phillippa Gregory, you might want to read "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" which I think was even better. Happy reading!

Any of the books by Phillippa Gregory are very interesting. Got interested after visiting my daughter in Oxford England and being in London hearing her tell history of the country.
And Eat,Pray,Love was a tremendous read - recommended to a freiend who said the book was talking right to her.

I, on the other hand, didn't enjoy Eat Pray Love, but loved The Other Boelyn Girl. I recommend the Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory, it's about Queen Kathrine who got pushed aside by Ann Boelyn and is very interesting.
My book group skips our January meeting each year because we're too busy during the holidays to keep up with reading, somthing to consider for your book group next year!
