Drivers Sit in Traffic One Work Week Per Year
According to a national study released last week, drivers
waste nearly an entire work week each year sitting in
traffic on the way to and from their jobs.
The nation's drivers languished in traffic delays for a total of 4.2 billion hours in 2005, according to the Texas Traffic Institution's urban mobility report--that's about 38 hours per driver!
Just another reason to pick up a few extra audio books to listen to, in order to make that sitting time more productive.
Another possibility if convenient in your area would be to take mass transit-- then you'll have the opportunity to read or work on your laptop, without having to worry about driving at all.

Yes! I concur with rapid transit ... I get a lot of work done/relaxing with my book on the bus ride home. Plus my bus goes across the bridge through the HOV lane and bypasses all the angry drivers waiting in traffic!

Thankfully it takes me 15 mins to drive to work. In a recent survey in Australia to reduce stress etc it was recommended work, shopping & home should be within a radius of 15-20 mins.
Not many people are fortunate to work in such close proximity... instead they are sitting in gridlock traffic spending too much time travelling instead of enjoying time with their families.
